This 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training + Sound Healing Course has been designed for those who want to enhance their yoga practice and develop their ability to heal people on an emotional and spiritual level. Gurukul Yogashala is a traditional yoga school in Rishikesh and is one of the few yoga schools that offer both an internationally recognised 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification and an immersive sound healing program that incorporates traditional Tibetan and Himalayan sound healing methods.

Combining these two practices under one roof allows participants to receive advanced theoretical education and hands-on practice with traditional yoga styles (Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga), Yoga philosophy, anatomy, pranayama (breath control) and meditation, while being introduced to advanced sound healing techniques (i.e., using Tibetan Singing Bowls, Tuning Forks, Gongs, and their voice) that can be used to bring harmony and balance back to the chakras and facilitate emotional healing.

Therefore, students will graduate with two certifications (RYT-200 and Sound Healing) that will allow them to teach internationally as well as conduct group sound healing sessions and workshops anywhere in the world. The 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training + Sound Healing Course starts on the 2nd and 24th of each month.

This course starts from 2nd of every month.

Bridging Vedic Tradition and Modern Teaching

Authentic Yoga. Made for Today.

Most people today live a busier lifestyle than ever before, which means we have all lost our connection to what once kept both our mind and body in harmony: the way we sleep, eat, manage stress; all of those things have changed from what they were in previous generations. Gurukul Yogashala offers a course combining these two areas and getting the best of both.

Teachers who have done extensive work within the ancient healing traditions guide this program, which combines the discipline of yoga teacher training with the therapeutic benefits of sound and gentle movement. All course topics will help students to not only acquire knowledge but also experience a transformation toward a more peaceful and harmonious way of living - and passing this experience onto others.

Certified Sound Healing Yoga Training

Master the Art of Sacred Sound

During this part of the class, we will look at the timeless tradition of healing using sound, with Tibetan bowls, gongs and cymbals made of metal as well as by sending vibrations through our voice. Sound will also help you achieve relaxation, rejuvenation, harmony, balance and peace in your body by correlating your chakras and your energy systems together via sound.

You will have the opportunity to experience all types of sound healing instruments, develop good safety habits around them, create a variety of different sound bath experiences and begin the practice of sound healing by implementing practical assignments for yourself after completing this certification program. The certification you receive will be recognised by Yoga Alliance, USA.

Sound Healing Teacher Training Detailed Curriculum

Sound healing is an ancient practice based on the idea that sound vibrations can support relaxation and well-being. It is believed to reduce stress, calm the body and mind, enhance creativity, and help balance the body’s energy centers (chakras). In a typical session, participants lie down and immerse themselves in sounds from instruments like bowls, bells, gongs, or the human voice—a process often called sound meditation or sound bathing. This experience can promote deep relaxation and heightened awareness. A sound therapy certification program teaches these methods in a structured, comprehensive way.

During the course you will be gaining in-depth knowledge of the different instruments used in sound healing therapies. Some of which are explained below

  • Singing bowls: Handcrafted metal bowls with unique tones, produced by rubbing a mallet around the bowl's rim
  • Hip & Lower Body Focus: A variety of deep hip, hamstring, and inner-thigh stretches to release tension and improve flexibility.
  • Spinal Stretches & Side Body Opening: Forward folds, twists, and side-bending postures to decompress the spine and enhance mobility.
  • Backbend & Front Body Expansion: Gentle to moderate backbends to open the chest, abdomen, and hip flexors while strengthening the spine.
  • Full-Body & Integrative Poses: Postures that combine spinal movement, hip opening, and shoulder release for complete relaxation.
  • Restorative Asanas: To gently support the body in deep stillness, allowing the nervous system to unwind and fully integrate.

Build strength, stamina, and mobility through dynamic, active movements that engage the muscles. Learn proper alignment, sequencing, and breath coordination to support a balanced, energetic practice. Develop heat, focus, and vitality to complement the stillness of Yin.
